For the 2nd edition of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, with the gerenal theme “Make New History”, comissioned by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee, Nuno Brandão Costa and André Cepeda presented a selection of constructed works with different briefs, scales, and times from two fundamental elements: the concept drawing (done by hand) and the current photographic record documented by Cepeda. The drawings and the photographic record exist as two temporally opposed moments: the embryonic moment in the construction of an idea in opposition to the work constructed and in use. The drawing is a synthesis of the idea, and essentially adds the references of the project and the work constructed, finished, already used, or still under construction.
